Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween everyone! This is our familys FAVORITE holiday so I had to post. This year was great, it was the first year Jorja really understood what was going on, and she had a blast! She dressed up as a devil, and Jocelin dressed up as an angel. It was a hit! They both looked so dang cute! It's become a tradition of ours to have the missionaries from our church over on halloween to carve pumkins and we kept it up this year. We had great fun carving and handing out candy and playing cards (Monoply Deal is a must have for every family, totally the best card game ever!!). Below is a super great clip of Jorja chasing one of the Missionaries at Trunk or Treat. If you can't make it out, at some point the Elder shouts "save me Satan is after me!" I thought this was too funny not to post. I hope everyone else had as much fun as we did and that life is well. (The date is off on our camera, good ol' Scott :D .)

Take the good with the bad.

As I sit here with puffy eyes from shedding tears most of the day I am trying to force myself to count my blessings as I know I need to. Today me, a friend from church, and my daughters were in an automobile accident. While it wasn't a horrible one, as anyone who has been involved in one knows, it is still very scary. It is especially frightening to me at this time because we have lost two people we know, and another one was seriously injured in an accident already this month. As I slammed on the brakes and braced myself for the impact I knew was coming my thoughts were clouded with the worries of had I buckled my girls in properly? Maria and I weren't wearing our belts, will I cause her family a loss? Will I cause mine a loss? Once out of the car safely, making sure everyone was okay, my thoughts are clouded with the now heavy financial burden that my already stretched family was placed upon. How are we to pay for this? Scotts hours have been cut, we just had major repairs to our other car done, how will we now pay for a new front end? It is hard to slow down to think about the fact that it was just our car. Everyone walked away today the same way they were before; my kids are safe in bed, and Maria, a mother of five, is at home with her family. So, as it's difficult to see the sun through all the rain, I am thankful that our family is safe, as well as Maria. I have been blessed today.

Crazy, but fun

Sorry girls, these men are married! ;)

Some cute pictures of Daddy daughter time.

The Georgia Aquarium

Loving these feet!

Have you realized life is either totally boring, or crazy busy? This is how our life is. Either we have nothing at all going on, or a ton of stuff jammed in out of nowhere. The last few weeks have had quite a bit going on. At the beginning of the month Grandma came to town for a few hours. We showed our love for her in ways most children won't....we got up at 4 am to meet her at the airport. We only had her for a few hours, but enjoyed the heck out of it, and can't wait to get her for longer! The next day we were out to meet up with Grams. She wanted to take Jorja to Arkansas for a bit, and to that we said SURE! So Scott and I had a totally terrific week of enjoying Jocelin. While we missed our Jorja it was so nice to have some quiet around the house and fantastic for me to clean the house only once a day! Two year olds are very good at following behind you and neatly throwing toys back on the floor-making sure to replace that juice stain you had just cleaned from the carpet-unloading the dishwasher as you load it and many other useful things. :) The same day that she came back we left Scott at home and headed to the beach! We went to Savannah to visit Eric, my big bro, and his very cute and pregnant wife, Melissa. It was a quick trip, but never dull around my family. :D After coming home from exhausting ourselves with games and beaches, we had a day to catch our breaths and it was Grandpas turn. He and his Sister Evon came in for four days, and we had a blast. They took us all to the Aquarium, which by the way, those of you who haven't seen the Georgia Aquarium must. Jorja was INSANE with excitement! It is grossly overpriced, but if you have children it is well worth it. The day before he left Jorja woke up sick (cold), and the next day Joss and I caught it. So I spent this last Friday sniffling and coughing, wrestling two sick kids in a doctors office. This is a very difficult thing to do, I feel sorry for the poor doctor that pulled the short straw on this day and had to go into our room. As our week settles down, I think...Man, that was crazy, but fun!

This is a video for all of those who adore baby talk. I am cherishing these moments, for I know they are almost gone...
Here is also a video to give you a small glimpse of how much our Jorja enjoyed the aquarium.

Just some catch up photos

My beauty having fun with bath time. :)
Just like Mommy, she has LOVED dogs since day one. Here she is walking one of her buddies Chico.
Daddy and Jorja wrestling on the 4th.
The three gals waiting for the fireworks to start on the 4th.

Have you ever seen anything more adorable? Jorja is the best big sister ever! She absolutely loves to do anything she can to interact with Jocelin. So amazing!
NO! This is NOT time out. Jorja loves to play in the dog kennels, strange, but cute!
Our girl having fun in the sun.

Yes, I am one of those mothers who is going to dress my girls alike every now and again until they tell me to stop because I think it is SO STINKING CUTE (my face in this picture says it all)!

Growing Old

So it happened this week....that dreaded moment in every persons life that tells them they are no longer allowed to call themselves young. I found my first gray hair! We tried to get a good shot of this evil invader for about ten minutes, but it didn't really turn out that great. This is my theory; two kids!

The Sunshine State...

Woo Hoo! We're going on vacation! Okay, okay, so we already did, and it was AWESOME! Scott and I celebrated our big 5 year on the 29th, and did it with so much style! It started off with a five hour drive to drop the kids off with Grams and Grampy. A brave move for parents of two, one being only three months old, but I have to say it was SO WORTH IT! For anyone who has not yet had a vaca away from the kids, I highly, highly recommend it. It was such a great refresher for us as a couple, and as parents. As much as we all love our kids, you've got to admit every now and then you just need a break. I am so grateful to have able and willing parents that will allow us to receive a break. So, what did we do with our free time you ask........

Where to start?!? Saturday we made the somewhat long drive down to Orlando Florida. Our first adventure was Gatorland. Sound dumb? It wasn't, it was very much fun. For those of you who know me best, I LOVE ANIMALS, so any place with them as the focal point is a hoot for me. I got to sit on a real live full grown gator-I was so stoked! To my surprise they have some very soft squishy parts, very cool to feel! This was also where we had our first encounter with Florida's un-caged wildlife, a five foot snake of some sort. I wanted sooo badly to pick it up, as those who know me best know I would have, but grumpy ol' Scott wouldn't let me. Throughout the whole trip we saw many wild snakes, frogs, lizards and other various cute things. The only creatures I managed to catch and hold were a few frogs. I'm nowhere near as skilled as I was as a child. My mom loved all the things I would catch and bring in the house! HEHE! :D

Sunday we went to Universal Studios, The Mummy is a must for anyone going that way. Universal wasn't as cool as I remember it being as a kid, but it was still plenty fun. After we had a day there, we went back to the hotel and took a super nice nap, completely uninterrupted by kids or alarms or someones schedule. One of the highlights, I must say!

Monday we went to Universals neighbor park-Islands of Adventure. This park was more my style. Lots of coasters and water rides. It wasn't quite as awesome as Six Flags, but a must see none the less. Hulk and Jurassic River were our favs. After returning to our now resort(we stayed here Mon-Thurs) Scott told me I must hurry and get changed because he had a surprise for me. At this point I wasn't quite feeling like going out, but he insisted. So we got ready.....and drove up to a limo! For some reason, this is something I have always wanted to do-ride in a fancy limo, and my man delivered! I was so surprised and thrilled. It was so much fun. We went to a really fancy Cuban restaurant, got some ice cream at the best place ever (coldstones of course) and then drove around to see the sites in style. Orlando is a very beautiful place all lit up at night. It was a very wonderful and romantic experience.

Tuesday was SOOOO COOL!!!! We got in the car, drove a long four more hours to Miami, and we...........SWAM WITH DOLPHINS! Again, I love animals, so this was incredible for me! Scott had the time of his life as well. It is a costly thing, but without any hesitation we both agree it is VERY worth it, and plan to do it again someday. I wouldn't even know how to describe how awesome it was, so I'm not even going to try!

Wednesday we hung around the very cool pool at the resort. This place had a pool, a lazy river, and a slide. About 20-30 minutes into our swim, Scott realized he hadn't taken my phone out of his swim trunks........So now my very fancy, cool, expensive phone is locked away in a drawer never to return and I am charging up a piece of junk phone that will be mine for the next 18 months until verizon allows me to upgrade. Oh well, something to laugh about later. :D

Thursday we slept in, went to lunch, then went back and took a nap! :P Then, went out and I had the chance to go indoor skydiving! Again, SOOO COOL! For anyone who wants to go skydiving but doesn't have the money or the guts, you need to do this! Scott chose not to, because he couldn't justify the money. I warned him he would regret not going, but of course, being male, he didn't listen. :P But, because he didn't go, we did manage to get some killer footage of my "jump". It was amazing, and only made me all the more sure that I will do the real thing some day. I am looking forward to it!

Friday we slept in again, then got in the car and drove to see our kids, who at this point I was missing like crazy! While we were apart Jorja hadn't changed much, but Jocelin must have snuck some steroids into her bottles because she appeared to be months older than when we had dropped her with the folks! We also had the great opportunity to see some family that we had never met before and some that we hadn't seen in years. This was a great time for my Mom and Dad. They had all three of their kids together for the first time in three years. It only lasted about two hours, but it was great! My family didn't start out very close, but I'm very fortunate to say that we are now. The amount of support that we all have for eachother amazes me. I'm so thankful to have such a fantastic family for my kids to grow up with. They will feel so loved everywhere they turn, and they will have many faces to look to for support and guidance when they need it.

So, now we're home and getting back to life. Today we went and got Jocelin's ears pierced. She looks so darling with them! Hmm, I think that's all I have to report for now. Hope you guys enjoy the pics of our week in The Sunshine State! Much love til next time........

Happy Mother's Day...

So, I thought I would take a minute to give thanks to all Mothers on this day. All to often the role of Mother goes overlooked and unappreciated. To these women we all owe so much. They give selflessly their entire lives to those they succor. They are teachers, nurses, psychiatrists, mentors, role models, beauty queens, friends, critics, advisers, tutors, maids, cooks, interior designers, accountants, hair stylists, and so much more. I am so grateful to all the Mothers that have blessed my life, especially my own Mom. I would not be able to rear my own children without the amazing examples that I have had through my life. Thank you Mom, and every other Mother that I know for all you do to make this world full of light, comfort, and love. Happy Mother's Day.

A new start at this blog thing...

Okay, so I set this blog page up over a year ago, and am now deciding that I'm really, really going to put an effort to keep it up. So here goes nothing!!

We had another baby last month, she's absolutely the best thing ever! Jocelin came into the world on February 26th, at 10:02 am. She weighed in at 7 lbs 5 ounces, and 19 in. She is already sleeping through the night (HALLELUJAH!) and is just a joy in every way!

Jorja is now 26 months and amazes us almost daily! Her vocabulary is extremely advanced for her age, and she loves to show it off! When she is in a good mood she is the cutest thing in the world! :P We had a request from Grandma to start logging some of her cutest sayings, so I thought there would be no better place than here....

"No, no, no, no, no, no, I love you MMMOORRREE!"
"Come on Mommy, Come on." in a very cute high pitched voice
"Go lay down Tiger Layla!" in the best bossy tone possible for a small toddler
"Whoa, Whoa, Whoa-Ka boom! Mommy's got ya." as she plays w/ her stuffed animals
"Hey, what'r doing?"
I could of course go on forever, but those are our favorite ones.

As far as Scott and I are concerned, we are better than ever! He is of course still in school (never ending), and I am doing pretty good (not to brag ;) ) adjusting to life w/ two kids. It isn't nearly as hard and horrible as I thought it would be. Although I am exhausted at the end of every day, I love my new role!!! Scott is also doing an incredible job as a Dad, I couldn't be happier! The bad economy has finally hit us. Scotts already low hours got cut right before Jocelin came, but somehow we are still doing okay. Anywho, I think that's enough for now, this has already taken me over three hours to finish! I hope to attach some older and more recent pictures of us and some great memories. Tata til later! :D
